As well as Indesign, Illustrator can also be used for Desktop Publishing. In this guide I’ll show you how to make text wrap around shapes in Adobe Illustrator.
Here’s a basic A4 document with some lorem ipsum placeholder text and a couple of shapes.
To convert the text to wrap, you will need to select both the square and circle and go Object > Text Wrap > Make. If the shapes are behind the text, then no text wrap will take place. To fix this, have the shapes selected and go Object > Arrange > Bring to Front. The result should look like this:
To increase the spacing between the shapes and the text, select the shape and go Object > Text Wrap > Text Wrap Options…
