In this meetup we will be having two speakers who will cover two different topics.
We don’t know about you, but we are busy. Lots of work to do, lots of people to spend time with, lots of TV, films and games to play and watch.
Let’s explore Grunt and Gulp, two incredibly powerful tools that we can harness and include in our web projects to reduce repetition and manage complex tasks for us. We’ll look into:
- What Gulp and Grunt are
- Running Tasks – how they can be used
- Plugins, extensions and enhancements
- Building them into your workflow
- The differences between the two task runners
By the end of this session you’ll be asking yourself how many things you can automate using these tools. Your life will never be the same again.
This meetup will be presented by Matt Gifford, an owner and primary primate at his own development consultancy company, MonkehWorks Ltd. His work primarily focuses on building mobile apps and ColdFusion development, although he’s such a geek he enjoys writing in a variety of languages.
He is the author of “Object-Oriented Programming in ColdFusion” and “PhoneGap Mobile Application Development Cookbook” and also contributes articles and tutorials to international industry magazines.
Harnessing the power of Panic Driven Development
Through the decades software developers have been prescribed development processes enforced by project managers and leads. Waterfall, XP, SRUM, TDD, BDD, Agile. But when going gets tough we always revert back to our natural state being… Panic.
So how can we harness the natural state of the developer?
Welcome to Panic Driven Development
The event will take place at Academy Class headquarters:
39 York Road, SE1 7nq
The Academy Class Digital and Design Club is a FREE event taught in a lecture style.
Our goal is to provide a unique, efficient and entertaining forum for designers – both professional and amateur – to offer solutions to our biggest problems and get their ideas out to an interested crowd who can offer networking possibilities, exposure and good old applause.
We seek to make connections and build links between graphic designers, Web developers, visual artists and digital content Creatives for collaboration, inspiration and knowledge sharing. We also cover events that relate to our field and review the tools and services relevant to the creative process.
And we promise to keep it FUN!
