Learn the Basics of Adobe Acrobat X

Adobe Acrobat X is one of the most commonly used documentation software that creates a readily portable document format or PDF files. Create

This tab gives you the options on what type of document from various sources you want to create the file from. It allows you to choose what you want to do with your files using pdf and which files to choose from.

These icons are for file storage or output destinations of your pdf files created. You can save it in any folder or send it directly to email.

Settings & Shortcut icons

The first icon on the left is the Settings icon which lets you initialize the properties and settings of Adobe based on your preference. The next one is the “Add sticky note” shortcut icon, which allows to add comments anywhere on your document which is similar to adding a post-it notes in it, or you can choose the next icon to it which is the “Highlight Text” which can help you find the important words or phrases in your document by highlighting them. The rest of the icons are useful features such as “Attach, Select, Text, and Rotate” functions.

These icons have similar functionalities and are commonly used when browsing through the entire document. These allow you to maximize the page layout as well as content viewing too.

Using one of the icons mentioned above, the “Take a Snapshot” lets you capture a potion of your document and save the image into jpeg formats and the likes.

This Page Thumbnails panel is for multiple page PDF document that allows you to combine which files are needed and which are to be removed or replaced. Any modifications in the order of the combined files of pages are done on this tool panel. Aside from that, you can select pages to be included by getting those files directly from any file folder in your computer.

This panel combines the powerful editing tools of Adobe Acrobat. Using the Tools tab, you can edit the document by adding texts for review markups, annotations, highlights, notes and other modifications. Also included here are drawing tools for more detailed markups and comments in the content. You can either used sticky notes to add comments or the drawing markup text option. Lastly, it lists down all the comments made on the documents to keep track of them and for easy look ups.

The Tools tab provides special functions for customizing page layouts, and editing page designs. You can place date and page numbers on your document using this option.

Insert Pages

This option allows you to insert various file formats and integrate them into your document. It can be an external file, an audio or recording file, and a web page hyperlink.

You can either right click on the desired location in your document to create a link with, then choose “open a web page”, then another window will pop up to ask for the specific website URL address. Or just click directly on the Tools tab – Insert Pages Option to do this.

Watermark

Adding a watermark on your document creates beauty and sophisticated design which provides a detailed description or a catchy note about a page or pages in your document. You can do this by clicking the watermark button to open the properties window, then from there, you can enter the text format and style as well as how you would want your watermark appear on the page as shown in the sample below:
